Formosa: the Cyclotron arrived for the Center for Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy
The commissioning of the Cyclotron will allow the manufacture of radioisotopes for an early and more precise diagnosis of diseases and treatment with the highest technology.

The Center for Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy “Dr. Néstor Carlos Kirchner" received the Cyclotron, which produces the radiopharmaceutical that is injected into the patient and circulates throughout the body, marking the cancer cells if they exist, which is detected by the PET and thus makes localized treatment possible, with great precision without damaging healthy tissue.
This equipment, together with the PET (positron emission tomography) that is being installed, act together.
The Center for Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy “Dr. Néstor Carlos Kirchner” is unique in the entire north of the country due to its characteristics, and will allow the entire cycle of nuclear medicine to be completed in #Formosa .
The majority of the technical and professional staff who work in this center are from Formosa who were specially trained for this challenge, which is a source of pride and further proof of the enormous potential and capacity of local men and women.
